Mother and Daughter Town Park

I did a painting of this back in 2003 and found an image of it while searching through some files on my computer. I was curious to see how my painting had developed from then and also how I would approach the same subject 7 years on. I allowed myself just one look at the previous painting before I started on this one as I didn't want it to be a reference in any way for what I would do now. The figures are the same but handled in a totally different way. The background composition with the wider tree on the left and the cross-over trees works better for me. While the values are lower the colour harmony is closer and I made more use of greens in different hues and tones. The 2003 painting is below.
